A pic I took recently - Church of the Ascension
For the first time in 6 months, I was in the pulpit yesterday. I had a great day at Church of the Ascension preaching at the 7:30, 9 and 11 am services.
I preached from the Gospel lesson appointed for the day - Mark 8:31-38. Audio from my sermon is iTunes here.
I'm a month into serving as Liturgical Assistant at Ascension and still finding my way around the church. I barely know where I'm going when I process into the church with the other clergy and the servers. My head was so full this past Sunday of where to walk, where to sit, what to do when in the service ... and oh yeah, my sermon. By the time I got to the 11 am service, I think I found my groove.
I did experience a tremendous amount of joy and favor from the Lord as I preached the Word. I was overcome with gratitude for me and my family's church home. My daughters are enjoying the children's program, and my wife and I are finding ways to serve at church and being thoroughly blessed by our worshipping community.
