1. I skipped the sixth grade and graduated college at 20 -- in spite of my ADD
2. I'm an unabashed foodie
3. I also love Big Macs, White Castle cheeseburgers and any really greasy food that can be best described as "dive bar appetizers"
4. I hold back tears when I preside over the Communion service
5. I love instrumental soundtracks from movies -- my favorites: Backdraft, Glory, The Patriot, Green Card, Sneakers and The Man With One Red Shoe
6. I love snuggling with my wife at the end of the day
7. I love snuggling with my daughters anytime they'll let me
8. I get this "kid in a candy store" feeling when I'm in one of the following places: an arcade, a wine shop, the Ralph Lauren store in New York or Chicago or at a clergy vestment store
9. I cry when I sing the Hallelujah chorus from Handel's "Messiah" and I can hear the pipe organ backing us up right at the very end of the song
10. I once skipped a church staff meeting to go to a George Carlin comedy concert ... and skipped seminary because Chris Rock was in town
11. I get bizarrely excited about clipping coupons
12. I think flying business or first class is worth every penny on international flights
13. I feel strangely important when I get "privileged access" to the Concierge Level Lounge when I stay in Marriott hotels
14. I believe in the inerrancy of the Bible, the creation story in Genesis, divine healing and the Pentecostal experience (speaking in tongues, getting "slain in the spirit")
15. I hate getting weird stares from people when I admit to my beliefs as listed in #14
16. I have engraved stationery and love my fountain pens
17. I'm old fashioned in that I love writing thank you notes ... and etiquette manuals
18. I never forget a good meal
19. I enjoy long drives alone when I start early in the morning
20. I am very loyal to my family and friends -- sometimes to a fault
21. I love romantic comedies (predictable plot lines and all) -- especially those movies featuring Meg Ryan, Reese Witherspoon Julia Roberts
22. My Sunday morning ritual consists of strong coffee, The New York Times (always read the "Sunday Styles" section to see the latest fashions of the week and to see the weddings pages) and of course, church
23. You wouldn't know it from looking at me, but I have a black belt in Tae Kwon Do
24. I believe in love at first sight
25. At first glance, I appear to most people as uptight -- but I'm really not
26. I own a humidor
27. Some of the best gifts I've ever received: wine refrigerator (from my lovely wife), Cuban Cohibas (from my best friend)
28. I don't care if it's unstylish, but I'm a fan of: Southern Gospel music, Garrison Keillor, veal, foie gras & NPR
29. I must be a historian at heart -- I just can't bring myself to throw away anything!
