
The Venerable Canon Dr. Jon Ignatius Lumanog was born and raised in Hoboken, New Jersey and a first generation American with parents from the Philippines.
Lumanog currently serves as Canon for Provincial and Global Mission for the Anglican Church in North America. Canon Lumanog is the chief programmatic officer assisting Archbishop Robert Duncan in carrying out the mission of the Province, both domestically and with international Anglican mission partners. A priest in the Anglican Diocese of Pittsburgh, he is also a National Trustee of the Anglican Relief and Development Fund and Liturgical Assistant at Church of the Ascension in Pittsburgh, PA.
At 19, he was the youngest ever in the Assemblies of God to receive ministerial credentials. After a journey back to the historic Christian church, he was ordained a Deacon in 2000 and as a Priest in 2002. He was received as a Priest into the Province de L'Eglise Anglicane au Rwanda (Province of the Anglican Church of Rwanda) by Bishop Thad Barnum and assisted by Bishop Frank Lyons (Anglican Diocese of Bolivia, Southern Cone) on January 19, 2007.
He most recently served as Church Planter and the first Rector (Senior Pastor) of Christ the King Anglican Church in Lansing, Michigan and as the Clergy Formation Advisor for the Heart of North America Region of the Anglican Mission in America.
Lumanog has served in various ministry capacities as Archdeacon to the Bishop and Province (Diocese), Interim Rector, Evangelist, Worship Leader, Youth Pastor and as Home Missionary-in-Training at an inner city church. He is a 1996 graduate of Cornell College (BA, Religion). Graduate studies include Master of Divinity (Anglican Studies) and Doctor of Ministry (Pastoral Counseling and Church Administration) degrees.
Dr. Lumanog serves as the Special Assistant to the National Chief of Chaplains for Diversity of Ministry with the United States Air Force Auxiliary Civil Air Patrol where he holds the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. Previous duty assignments include Great Lakes Region Deputy Chaplain for Administration and the Wing Chaplain for the State of Michigan and Squadron Chaplain for the New Century Composite Squadron in New Century (Olathe), Kansas. In 2006, Lumanog was honored as the Kansas Wing Chaplain of the Year and in 2011 named the Great Lakes Region Chaplain of the Year.
He resides in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania with his wife, Amy, and their daughters, Ainsley Mae and Hadley Grace.(current as of February 2012)
